Mr. Yogesh has been into raisins business from last 30 – 35 years the business has been passed on to him by his ancestors. He was primarily into cultivation of green raisins but as COVID struck the nation he was amongst those who were affected by it.
None of the farm/food products that come to our tables, come directly from the farm. Everything goes through some post-harvest processing. The simplest example is wheat, which also needs cleaning & grading. This has led to industrialization, where local farmers or producers do not stand a chance.
Mrs. Sangeeta is the founder of Annapoorna flours. Mrs. Sangeeta in 2014 shifted to pune along with her family, as she was used to having fresh chakki atta straight out of the mill but there were no flour mill in 3km radius from where she was residing she had to travel to get it done.
Atta / Fresh flour is seen in every house in India. From getting atta from a nearby chakki to buying packaged atta from a general store a customer shift has been seen. But you know what during this shift one thing has been compromised on, that is its freshness.
